FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does Pastorix replace physical fencing?

Yes. Instead of thousands of kilometers of wire, a small number of network towers and on-animal smart devices create moving virtual paddocks. Existing boundary fences can stay as a backup, but day-to-day rotation no longer depends on them.

How do the devices guide the cattle?

Each animal carries a lightweight, solar-powered collar with GPS. The device guides cattle with gentle audio cues and vibration — never shocks — teaching them to move away from virtual fence lines. Most animals learn within a few days.

What happens in remote areas without cellular coverage?

Pastorix does not depend on cellular networks. A private long-range wireless network relayed by towers covers your entire ranch, including the remote Chaco. The grazing engine plans nightly from satellite imagery and sends instructions over that network.

How fast do results show up?

The system operates from day one, but pasture recovery takes time. Pilot data from El Retiro ranch in Paraguay shows stocking rates climbing from 0.7 to 1.2 livestock units per hectare within 3–5 years — on the same land, with no deforestation.

Do I still need cowboys?

Far fewer. Daily herding disappears; your team supervises the system, reviews the grazing plan each morning, and attends to alerts for animals that need attention. No additional cowboys are needed to run the rotation.
